♥”Non vediamo l’ora di ritornare in Italia!”♥
In my last post: Italy’s Siren Song: ♥ “Ti aspettiamo “…”We wait for you…”♥ , I shared how Italy beckons us to return and delight in her warm and generous hospitality. And then I realized that now we are waiting, too. Waiting until we can return…and I, for one, cannot wait to return!
Dreams Deferred, NOT Denied…
Maybe we can’t (or aren’t ready to) book a flight, much less get on an airplane yet BUT it doesn’t mean that we can’t let our travel dreams take flight… if only virtually for now!
Those of us who love to travel, love planning our next adventure, and dream about our next getaway or vacation are feel pretty grounded and frustrated right now! I know that is definitely the case for those of us with Italy as our next destination and, even though we can’t go on that trip to Italy yet … the time will come when we can and we’ll be ready, won’t we?
We can still dream can’t we? Of course we can because we know that those dreams can become a reality. We just have to know that Italy is waiting for us with open arms and see ourselves there experiencing la dolce vita!
While We Wait…What to do? Read. Research. Learn. Dream. Plan.
Let’s get ready! Dust off that wish list and rekindle that enthusiasm! There are so many exciting possibilities to consider!
Even though I’ve been to Italy many, many times, I anticipate the next trip as if it were my first! What about you? Why do you long to go or return to Italy? What do you love about her? Where do you want to go? What do you want to see? Make a list and then jot down everything you might want to do and see. Don’t fret about the details. No limits! Dream big!
What appeals to you? What are you interested in? Historical sites? Art? Food and wine? Music? Museums? Meeting local artisans? Shopping? Hands on immersive experiences such as cooking classes? Cheese, olive oil and wine tasting? Or? Italy offers so much, you probably have a long list! Favoloso!
As one of (if not) the most beautiful and desired destinations in the world, there are so many excellent resources (and thousands of fabulous photos), to fuel your inspiration! Immerse in Italian music, cinema, books, and blogs. Enjoy virtual museum visits and videos on YouTube. Perhaps start (or, in my case, add to) a dedicated file, notebook or scrapbook of sorts – paper or electronic. Maybe a dream board or collage?
Can you see yourself in the picture?! I can!…
And, know that someday, you will be in those photos, living and loving every minute! Si, making memories to cherish and, I hope, some of us will be making those memories together…
