♦Me? In Italy Magazine? Si! Wow! ♦

♥ Grazie, Italy Magazine, for Sharing My Story! ♥

I am delighted, thrilled, honored, excited, and humbled to be featured in the latest issue of Italy Magazine and to share my story, “my next chapter”:

“Moving during a pandemic. As part of our popular ‘share your Italian story’ series we speak with Victoria De Maio, who decided to immerse herself completely in the life of the Bel Paese in spite of the difficult times.”

Share Your Italian Story: Moving During a Pandemic

When Silvia Donati, staff writer for Italy Magazine, tweeted that they were looking for “moving to Italy” stories to feature, I didn’t hesitate to throw my hat in the ring! And, much to my delight, she contacted me with a positive response.

Although I have shared my journey on my blog to be able to share this new chapter with the entire readership of Italy Magazine? Wow! Wow! Wow!

Grazie for Joining Me!
Grazie for joining me on my journey…

I’m excited to share for many reasons. No story is ever about just one person. So, my story and journey is not only about me but it’s the story of my family, my roots, my friends, my teachers… and all those who have and continue to support and touch my life. My sharing is my way of showing my gratitude.

Many of you who have followed along with me over the past months know much of my story. Doubtless it is humbling to know that it will reach many others and, I hope, encourage and inspire others to hold fast to their dreams whatever they may be.

To those of you (and you know who you are!) who have stepped up and had my back, who have supported me through up and down cycles, past and present… I’m just so damn grateful for you!

♥ Grazie di cuore. ♥

A special grazie to Silvia (who I am looking forward to finally meeting in Bologna one of these days) and to Georgette, Editor, and the Italy Magazine Team.

  2. Nice interview Victoria! We are in good hands I know it. Lucky? A real woman makes her own luck I say 🙂

    • Grazie Paul! Agreed about “lucky”! That famous quote “Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity” is pretty darn true!
Looking forward to welcoming you and the WITP folks!
      Take care and cheers!

Victoria, you should check out this website for womens and mens shoes. Handmade by family artisans for generations. I have purchased roughly 25-28 pairs and they are reasonably priced. I am sharing because it might be a special connection for you with Maria Gangemi. She is the curator (and an Italian from Firenze) of these gorgeous high quality shoes and accessories. I found about MGemi on LinkedIn….Hope you can make a connection. So great to see you do your other Italian passion next to Paloma Picasso and Elsa Peretti!

    • Grazie Victoria! I appreciate you thinking of me and for the referral. I’m not sure that I’m even
close to the category of Paloma or Elsa, but thank you (and we do remember those Tiffany days, don’t
      we?)… Best from Italy! V.
