Italy Redux: Another Postcard from Sicily!

Let's Go to Italy Together!♥ We LOVE Sicily!! ♥

We are about mid-way through our adventure Siciliana which started in Palermo. From there we explored Monreale, Erice, Cefalu, Segesta, Valley of the Temples…

Then we headed south to the Val di Noto – Ragusa, Noto, Modica, Scicli, stopping along the way to sample and savor local regional wines & culinary specialties…and my favorite dolce, cannoli!

As we come toward the end of our time together, we have marveled at ancient ruins, UNESCO sites, picturesque towns & villages, and the uniqueness of this island…

Join us in historic Siracusa and charming Taormina with stops at a Roman Villa del Casale, the city of ceramics and a few surprises off the beaten track  along the way…

Won’t you join us as we continue to experience Seductive Sicily?!

The spectacular towns of UNESCO designated Val di Noto, featuring marvelous Baroque architecture, include…

Ragusa & Tagusa Ibla where I enjoy my first Michelin 2-Star experience.,,Modica, home of lip smacking chocolate…Noto…Elegant Scicli… Along the way to Siracusa, wine tasting and pairing with a delicious lunch at Planeta…Exploring Siracusa’s ancient archeological treasures and the delightful passageways of Ortygia including the magnificent Cathedral…

Our final destination on this amazing journey? Taormina, of course!

Taking in the Teatro and a granita (I had almond & coffee) with panna (yum whipped cream) at Bam Bar, seaside stroll to Isola Bella, and nearby Savoca (where scenes of “The Godfather” were shot)……and soooo much more!

  1. Yes, I wish I were there! Your photos brought back memories. So loved Ragusa, home of the Occhipinti name. Returning next year if all goes well to research more about my family and hopefully stay a week or two in one place for a change. Maybe we will meet each other there!

    • Fabulous! I didn’t know you had Sicilian roots, too!
Yes, I have some contacts for you – I’m not sure if I will be back next fall but you never know! I’m sure eventually our paths will cross for a toast 🥂and a hug!
