Summertime! When the sun is at its highest and the travel bug starts to bite! For many, summer time = vacation time! But there are also many of us who are waiting for and thinking about planning where we want to go in fall and beyond…and now is a perfect time to do more than think about it!

No doubt that social media, COVID, and world politics have impacted the travel world and a degree of uncertainty and unpredictability is the “new normal”. The question is how do we still plan, navigate and enjoy that dream trip, especially for international travel?
As I review and reread the numerous travel tips I have shared over the years – both general and Italy specific tips (including a book!)…plus from decades of personal travel and what I have experienced planning for small groups, couples, families, friends and solos for almost 14 years and, of course, what is happening now… here’s what I know…
♦ Both my general travel tips (Travel Tipz) which encompass everything from planning and packing to being a safe and savvy traveler to coping with jet lag, as well as tips specifically about travel in Italy (Italy Travel TipZ) – literally first hand and Boots on the Ground in the Boot, for 5-1/2+ years…are always timely, no nonsense, no hype, no “click bait” and not based on “hearsay”!
♦ I’m also here to provide “reality checks” because the world of travel is so volatile! If you traveled in the past, don’t expect what was true then to be true now. Flexibility is so important! And, memories are lovely but it’s important not to expect places or experiences to be the same as they were before. They change…and so do we!
In some cases, the experience will be better but expectation can set you up for disappointment especially if you’ve seen some alluring glossy ad or click bait review online. And it can go both ways! A disappointed, disillusioned post could put you off – but remember that is just one person’s opinion. Of course, I have my opinions but I always try to be objective with advice and offer real time recommendations and options according to my client’s profile and comfort level.
