Introduction: Although I do receive occasional travel planning inquiries via social media, almost all of my business is from referrals. So, when I received a message from a Facebook “friend” I had never met, I was delighted that she reached out and even more so when the “friend” became a lovely client and more!

♦ Serendipity
When someone you “know” but haven’t met in person reaches out for travel advice…
Then an online text conversation is initiated, followed by a scheduled consultation, a proposal, and then…a “yes”and Voila! Ecco! A detailed itinerary is planned and confirmed…
And when THE day arrives several months later, it all comes together in Florence!
That someone, Susan and her family, decided that when they were going to come to the port of Livorno on their family cruise, they wanted a private experience – a personalized day trip to Florence – and not the typical busload shore excursion version of sightseeing.
♦ A Plan
The family of five had a specific “wish list” and, as their travel designer, I created a day that would include everything they wanted to see and do. Their priorities included a private round trip transfer from “door to door”and guided tours of the Uffizi and Academia Museums.
Welcome to Florence & Caffe Gilli followed by an introduction to your fab guides, Debora and Michela!
All arranged and more including personally meeting them, taking them to Florence’s oldest cafe, introducing them to their local (and fabulous!) tour guides for the afternoon, and arranging for us to reconnect to toast and enjoy a lovely meal together. Finally, back to Livorno by private transfer including a special requested stop at Piazzale Michelangelo.
♦ Memories Made!
When that day arrived, everything was in place and despite record-breaking heat, it was an absolutely perfect, delightful day for everyone!
Despite the heat, we were doing what we loved and the day ended with hugs and beautiful memories all around!
