If You’re Not Cruising, You’re Missing the Boat!

I couldn’t resist starting with some lyrics…feel free to sing along…

“Love Boat Cruise!”

Love, exciting and new
Come aboard. We’re expecting you.
Love, life’s sweetest reward.
Let it flow, it floats back to you.
The Love Boat soon will be making another run
The Love Boat promises something for everyone
Set a course for adventure,
Your mind on a new romance.
Love won’t hurt anymore
It’s an open smile on a friendly shore.

– Paul Williams and Charles Fox

Not the Love Boat, But You’ll Love it Anyway!

When I got into the travel business it had been a very long time since I had been on a cruise. (Actually I think it was during the Love Boat days!) Since a good part of my travel business was and still is selling cruises I wanted to find out firsthand what the appeal is, why they are so popular and how they generate such loyalty. So when I had the opportunity to take a cruise a few years ago, I was up for it!

And now I know why cruisers love cruising! So, if you’re one of those cruise skeptics, before you turn up your nose or click to another page…hear me out… because I can assure you that, unless you’ve cruised recently, what you think you know about cruises is outdated and, more than likely, based on obsolete stereotypes. In other words, forget the Love Boat!

Cruise and cruise ships comes in all sizes and flavors!  Today’s cruise ships range in size from riverboats with 100+ passengers to mega-ships with over 3000 and everything in between! Whatever the size, today’s ships are sophisticated and modern not only in their design and deck plans, but in the variety of  dining venues, amenities and activities – all with the goal of catering to you and tending to your creature comforts!

7 Reasons Why You’ll LOVE Cruising!

Cruising is a breeze!

#1 Travel on a world class “floating resort” and unpack only once

One of the greatest pleasures of cruising is unpacking once and having your “hotel” travel with you. No packing and unpacking, no schlepping, and no precious vacation time spent just getting from one place to another.  Since your “hotel” follows you, you can relax and have more time to actually enjoy your vacation.

#2 – A great value for your travel $$$

When you compare the per diem costs of a cruise vs. DIY (do-it-yourself) independent travel, cruises are a tremendous travel value and very hard to beat.

There’s a broad spectrum of cruises ranging from modest to luxury. Since you book in advance and pay in advance, it’s easier to budget and avoid surprises when get home and the credit card bills arrive. If traveling abroad, since you pay in local currency you won’t have to worry about the fluctuating dollar.

World class service!

#3 – World class customer service and amenities

Oh, you really are in for a treat! The cruise industry is very competitive and that translates into good news for YOU! About YOU being pampered and spoiled! They make it their business to cater to cruisers and they are constantly upping the ante in every category – accommodations, cuisine, activities, ports, amenities…

Discerning travelers and stiff competition have resulted in the bar being raised very high. Staff and crew are absolutely the best – professional and highly trained with one objective in mind – to make you happy and to get you to book your next cruise with them! Cruise lines understand the value of customer loyalty and they want yours.

#4 – Less stress and peace of mind

If you’ve ever planned your own vacation, you know it consumes a huge time investment and can be very frustrating, confusing, and even overwhelming. Often there are places you would love to travel to but the idea of planning a trip is daunting or you wouldn’t risk going on your own.

A cruise can be your solution; you can sit back, enjoy, and leave the planning, trip logistics and details to the professionals. Your biggest decision may be what to order from room service, which shore excursion to choose, which restaurant to try …or which pool to lounge by! Not bad!

#5 – Perfect for the inexperienced or seasoned traveler

Whether you’re a novice or seasoned traveler you can find cruises that appeal to your personal style and interests. For the inexperienced traveler, there are short cruises offering the perfect opportunity to dip your toe into the cruising experience. For the seasoned traveler, it’s a great way to expand your horizons and explore more exotic destinations that you wouldn’t necessarily want to venture to on your own.

#6 – Milestone celebration solution

A cruise is a perfect way to celebrate a milestone event and can make traveling with friends and family so much easier. Whether it’s a birthday, holiday, family vacation, honeymoon, reunion, anniversary or just to getaway, cruises offer the ease of planning and knowing that there will be plenty of choices and something for everyone.

With virtually all-inclusive fare pricing, everyone can enjoy fabulous accommodations, cuisine and activities for every age group. No more worrying about “splitting” tabs, finicky eaters or “what to do with the kids” either! Event the person organizing the trip can enjoy his/herself!

#7 – For solo travelers

If you want to travel on your own but aren’t ready for a completely solo adventure, cruises are perfect! More and more cruise lines are waiving the single supplement andoften organize events for solo travelers to connect with one another. You can maintain your independence and explore your own travel interests within the comfort and security of a group.
